Today there are MBL instructors all over the world who offer classes and private consultations. MBL-Asia is the affiliate organization to support countries including Malaysia, Afghanistan, Bagladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Laos, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Turkey, and Vietnam officially. In addition, Brain Gym® for Special Needs Providers and Movement Based Learning for Children of All Abilities have been translated into Spanish, French, Malay, Japanese, Chinese, Slovenian, Dutch, Italian, German, and will soon be available in Russian. The emphasis is on teaching and consulting in a functional, practical way so that any information learned is directly applicable and usable. Techniques that are taught and learned have been shown to directly affect the ease of learning for each participant.

Introduction to MBL Courses

MBL101 - The Building Block Activities

Course synopsis

This course offers an in-depth look at some basic patterns of neurological and motor development and is a good basis for further training in reflex integration such as Brain Gym® or rhythmic movement training with RMTi. Participants will learn how to: • do the seven Building Block Activities (BBAs) • assess the needs of someone who is differently abled • develop a program using the Building Block Activities • evaluate the effectiveness of the program, and • make modifications when necessary. The Building Block Activities can be very effective in the learning or re-learning of natural, normal developmental movement patterns. Participants will leave the course with new skills that optimize learning and performance in all areas of life and they will find that these tools are immediately applicable in home, school and therapeutic settings.

This course provides excellent applications for a variety of mental and physical challenges including and yet not limited to, autism, cerebral palsy, attention deficit disorders, dyslexia, Angelman’s Syndrome, Down Syndrome, speech impairment, brain injuries, blindness, deafness, impairments caused by strokes, epilepsy and/or developmental delays. Open to all.

MBL201 - MBL Consultant

Course synopsis

This course prepares the candidate to be a consultant which allows Building Block Activities to be used for consultation or facilitation purpose. This course offers the necessary practices to be a consultant in a workshop setting. This course is also for those who are not interested to be an instructor but will like to use MBL in their business or to consult their customers.

Pre-requisite: MBL101 and Case studies.

* This is a pilot project and is only available at MBL-Asia.

BG170 - Brain Gym for Special Needs Providers

Course synopsis

This 32-hour experiential course provides an in-depth study of how to use Brain Gym® with children and adults, with specific adaptations for those who have special needs or are differently-abled. These modifications will aid parents, teachers, caregivers and health professionals in their work with people who have special needs.

There is emphasis on how to determine which Brain Gym movements/activities to use by looking at the needs of the child/adult through the lens of the three dimensions of learning. Participants will learn how to assess the needs of the child/adult, develop a program to meet those needs, evaluate the program, and modify as learning and growth occurs.

Participants will leave the course with new skills that optimize learning and performance in all areas of life and they will find that these tools are immediately applicable in home, school and therapeutic settings. This course provides excellent applications for a variety of mental and physical challenges including and yet not limited to, autism, cerebral palsy, attention deficit disorders, dyslexia, Angelman’s Syndrome, Down Syndrome, speech impairment, brain injuries, blindness, deafness, impairments caused by strokes, epilepsy and/or developmental delays.

**This is a course in the Brain Gym curriculum and is required to become a Movement Based Learning Instructor.

PURPOSE OF MOVEMENT BASED LEARNING

Movement Based Learning offers workshops which address the foundational pieces of learning so that children and adults of all abilities, as well as their caregivers, parents, therapists and teachers, can learn how to learn.

The program provides excellent applications for a variety of challenges including yet not limited to those who have/are on the autism spectrum, cerebral palsy, attention deficit, hyperactivity, dyslexia, Angelman’s Syndrome, Down Syndrome, speech impairment, brain injuries, blindness, deafness, impairments caused by strokes, epilepsy, developmental delays. It is also a fantastic tool to provide early childhood prevention and action tools.
